Today has been a very special day thanks to those of you who sponsored a Christmas Dinner for someone who is homeless, in Chester these lovely volunteers gave up their Christmas Day to serve a delicious roast dinner and Christmas presents to 20 people who are without a place to call home this year and are sleeping rough, prepared by the awesome team at The Coach House Inn - Chester. Forfutures, Cheshire West and Chester Council’s contractor, has applied for planning permission to turn Hamilton House into a much-needed hub in the city centre. It is proposed to turn a section of the ground floor of the council-owned property on Hamilton Place into a triage-style support and assessment facility for vulnerable rough sleepers and sofa surfers. The local Chester business community have come together to launch a brand new campaign The Great Christmas Cake-Off Competition, to help raise much needed funds to help people who are homeless this Christmas. Organisers Izzy Grey and Adam Dandy are hoping The Great Christmas Cake-Off will become an annual event, and has been created to support Share Shop Chester’s highly successful buy-a-brick campaign, where members of the public and local businesses can buy a brick for £1 which goes towards the purchase and running costs of a house to provide a stepping stone to get people off the streets of Chester.
