The story of 10 year old Ali Hassan, Piraeus, Greece.
This is the story of 10 year old Ali Hassan whom one of our team met in Piraeus, Greece and demonstrates just how small things can make big difference. Ali was living in a tiny tent, with his widowed mother and two younger siblings, surrounded by thousands of other tents all squashed into an area between Gates E1 and E2 of the port of Athens. The family had travelled from Idlib in Syria, on foot, mostly to save their money, to Turkey where they found people smugglers who parted them from most of their cash. They reluctantly joined other Syrian refugees...
Next container sent to Syria
Today along with other charity groups we've been able to send another container to Lesvos and Chios. We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone again for their continued support. There is another container leaving this month to go to Syria. We are in desperate need of any medical supplies as the hospitals are really struggling in Syria and really need our support. If you are able to help please contact us. Thank you in advance
Trainers for Chios
Just over a month ago Help Refugees did a shout out for football kits and boots. They wanted to have a sports tournament to tackle integration in Italy but unfortunately they had no kits or boots for the tournament to take place. There are more than 500 young refugees, migrants and Italians living in deprived areas of Italy. The tournament was organised by 'Mediterraneo Antirazzista'. Share was able to send three big boxes of football kits and boots so thank you to all those who help by donating their unwanted kits and boots.
