Chester's ShareShop Smashes £100,000 in sales

Since Chris Matheson MP cut the ribbon on Chester's SHARE Shop on the 16th Jan 2016, the shop, designed to deliver direct aid to people who are homeless in #Chester, whilst raising money to buy a house to begin taking people off the streets of the city and to send aid to assist refugees fleeing for their lives around the World, has this week smashed through the £100,000 sales target!

The shop has been open a total of 456 working days since opening, meaning that the shop has sold an average of £219 worth of stock every day! Impressive when you consider many items are sold for just a couple of pounds.

A number of people who were homeless are now housed and employed as a direct result of the shop, over 34,000 bricks in the house for the homeless have now been sold for just £1 each and hundreds of tonnes of aid has been dispatched abroad to refugees fleeing for their lives, from Uganda to Syria, France and the Greek Islands.

SHARE continues to help more and more people, recently launching an outreach service helping people in need on the streets every Tuesday and Thursday evening, by delivering aid directly from the SHARE shop to people on the streets.

SHARE's Trustees would like to say a huge thank you to every single Share volunteer for all of their hard work, blood sweat and tears in making the whole charity a huge success and helping so many people around the World.
